Awesome Interjections!

"Rome" has these great interjections!  I've started using them, partly because they are just cool, and then also because I think they make me sound cultured.  Heaven knows, I'm lacking in that category.  The world would think I was raised by Germans (a phrase of Roman origins to indicate one who is uncivilised)...

~ Bona Dea ..... Literally "Good Goddess", she was the daughter (sometimes sister) of Faunus, and was sometimes known as Fauna.  She was associated with fertility and was an all-round rustic, nature deity.  The name was invoked out of exasperation.

~ Juno Inferna ..... An alternate name for Proserpina (Greek equivalent of Persephone), she was queen of the underworld.  ("Juno" was wife of Jupiter (equivalent of Zeus) and queen of the heavens, and "Inferna" was the underworld, so the two together refer to "The Queen of the Underworld"... Proserpina)  This interjection was a bit harsher than than the first.

~ Sons of Dis ..... Dis was another name for Pluto (Greek equivalent of Hades) (Dis and Pluto both literally mean things related to wealth, since his realm was underground, he owned all the gems, gold, and precious metals.).  The exasperation in this phrase was a little more pronounced than that of "Bona Dea" and "Juno Inferna".

Ha, ha... I just realized that those were all the appropriate ones.  Oh, well... they still are pretty cool!  =)

Pluto abducting Juno Inferna (Proserpina) (that's how they got hooked up) -

Oh, and I apologize for not having posted in days.  These last few have been busier than normal!

Here's a reminder of all the Romans For Dummies comics (in chronological order) -
